Hi,

I have recently come across a JzP helmet with the makers stamp GeBR Israel 1916. I have been trying to find out about this makers mark (a friend of mine does not think it is possible for German helmets to be made in Palestine at this time). Does anyone have a good reference or know much about this company?

This is indeed the maker's name. It can be found in the outstanding list of Pickelhaube manufacturers collated by Joe:

It is in fact the abbreviation for "Gebrueder Israel" (Israel brothers).

That is a rare maker in my experience especially for a Jzp. The most common for Kurassier/Jzp again from what I have seen is good old Otto Nachtigall Berlin.

This one has been on the list for a while. If I remember correctly it came from the kindness of Chas.
