It' so easy to convert a 1. Garde Dragoner helmet into a general's helmet....

Agreed. Also easy to convert an unmarked 6th Kuerassier into a Garde du Corps or Garde Reiter, or any number of other helmets into other types. The trick, I think, is finding a tricther whose threads match the cross base. Either way, a Garde Dragoon officer would go for a high price as well. Neither is cheap and both are nice!

So do you guys think this is a parts helmet? It does look llike an earlier Garde star (I like the ones with more 'relief' to them).
I really can't tell from the photos if it's doctored or not.
