Gday, now as you all know by now im chasing a WW one Camo, im just asking if anyone here knows a bit a WW two M35, M40 , M42. Why I ask is im after on of these as well. If im not doing the wrong thing then just tell me but I figure it has to be worth a go. Also I have some good pics of the Camo that im bidding for on Ebay, would love some feedback as I would hate to miss out on a good Camo because I was to tight, and vice a versa paying to much for a dud. Thanks.

Lnydon, if you want an original you can trust, buy from Peter here>> http://www.germanmilitaria.com/

Go to any Forum and do a search on "The Collector's Guild" and you will find nothing but positive comments and expereinces. That by itself, is uncommon.

I've also bought from Collector's Guild over the years, and can say that Pete's stuff is really good!

If there is nothing available now, I'd also recommend:

Tell Ken N. that Peter Suciu told you to contact him. Ken's a good guy too.

I'd be careful with the helmets on eBay. A LOT of fakes, and camos are especially faked. I heard at SOS that it is common now for some fakers to use lead paint bought in places like Eastern Europe where you can still get it to better match the WWII style paint colors.

Post some photos or links. I'm not a camo expert but maybe I can help.

And Pete certainly knows his stuff!

I've collected a number of wwii German helmets, and I can say I would not buy any of the wwii helmets that I see on that site, Lyndon.

No way.

I think folks are giving you good advice about Collector's Guild.

Frankly, the best way to go about getting a good, authentic WWII lid is getting to know other wwii helmet collectors and asking them when you see a specific lid you're interested in.

I've done well over the years purchasing helmets off of the wehrmacht awards forum (www.wehrmacht-awards.com). Any phonies listed for sale get hammered pretty quickly there.

Happy hunting!

David

I've never seen this site, but double decal Waffen SS helmets are not $650. That helmet if real would be MUCH closer to $6500.

That's all I needed to see. I need to look no further.
