German Imperial Bayonet Frog - Fits What?

Hello folks,
Does anyone know what bayonet the below frog would fit?
At first glance, it looks like your typical WW1 S98/05 frog--it is marked 'BERLIN 1917'--however did you notice that second row of stitchings to adapt it to hold a narrower (S98?) scabbard?

Hi Ron

I have no proof positive on these but have had a number of them over the years. Recently a friend of ours bought a collection and in the pile was an ersatz bayonet with one of these on the sheet metal scabbard. It fit quite well. They tend to be too wide for an S84/98 bayonet and not wide enough for a S98/05. I've kicked around the idea of perhaps a Turkish or Bulgarian contract frog. I would like to say that all I have seen similar to these are marked Berlin 1917.

Hey Larry, I thought the perfect imperial Troddel--that I should hopefully receive next week--deserved a nicely marked frog
However, after seeing those extra stitching, I decided to pass on this one! I wouldn't have won anyway since it seems someone else badly wanted it: This piece of old leather just sold for $108!
