... if any, and why?

Cap A/ Prussian Einheits (Universal) EM Schirmmütze M1916 ?

Cap B/ Prussian Jäger Officer Schirmmütze M1910 ?? (looks more NCO to me due to the lower quality)

Are these the ones on Regimentals? I believe both to be OK. Very good condition. Either would be a good addition to a collection.

They are, but I thought the prices were a bit steep for cloth headgear... besides, I've seen some good and some bad stuff on their site so you never know.

Does the Universal cap look OK all the way to the strap? When compared to an Officer's model (like Tony's), it looks quite different, doesn't it? Anybody here has a similar (EM) one for comparison?

As for the 'Jäger' one; what 'Jäger' are we talking about and is this really an M1910 Officer version as advertized? (looks more like NCO with Off. cockades to me)

Here's another expensive yet tempting one... but is it really wartime (M1910?) as advertized?

Cap C/ Prussian Hussar Regt. 8 NCO Schirmmütze M1910 ???

That Universal Schirmmütze got snatched right in front of my eyes while I was scrutinizing it on Regimentals yet again this morning (it litterally vanished after I refreshed my screen)!! #-o

I was going to raise some additional issues about color tones, slightly 'fuzzy' fabric and the chinstrap... The only Prussian Universal visor hat I know of is Tony's. Although it's a (great looking) Officer version, the green color tones and chinstrap design a quite different/richer...

Anyway, I wonder who bought it :-k

Ron,

You have to be careful with these Einheits-Schirmmützen. The Stahlhelm wore a nearly identical cap in the postwar period. Frankly, I would be a lot more comfortable with a gray visor and chinstrap, since those were authorized in 1915. Of course, there could be exceptions, but the Stahlhelm did use black visors and chinstraps.

There were no Jägers garrisoned in Cassel, but Marburg (Jäger Batl.11) is in the same corps district (XI.AK).

Is the below visor cap a Hussar Regt. 8 Schirmmütze as advertized?
Isn't it a Garde-Kürassier-Regt. (Berlin) Garde-Korps Schirmmütze instead?
