Hello all!

So I was out today and visited a local shop that I frequent, asked if they had anything new come in recently and by Jove there was!

An original GM17 with canister and lenses! I was in shock, this is one of my dream pieces. They haven’t yet listed it yet so it was in store only. Paid $450 which may be a bit steep but I had to have it.

I’ve been on the lookout for one for some time now so it wasn’t even a question.

All in all I’m in love with it’s perfect!

Nice piece, congrats. I know the feeling of an unexpected find ; instant happiness, hope you recovered well from that shock.:)

I think it has something to do with the way we were programmed as hunter gatherers.

I once found this M 1908 British cavalry sword right around the corner in the local second hand store (Kringloop winkel) Not expecting to find anything related to militaria.

This sword was not ceremonial ! It is the last British sword that was taken to battle.

There is a scene in the beautiful movie “War Horse (2011)” where they take on the German MG 08 , bad idea.

Well done on snatching this piece your way

I really love these, and I am looking for one myself here and there. Great find, congratulations.

And personally, I'd say that $450 really was not a terrible price, at least considering what ones In that shape are going for now.
