I just got back from attending my local Veteran's Day parade and I wanted to say thank you and God bless to all our members who have served, or are serving, in the armed forces of their respective countries.
My wife, daughter and I were standing on the sidewalk watching the parade. I was wearing an Army baseball cap with my ribbons attached to it. A group from our local Air Force base was marching by (I think they were from the NCO leadership academy because they were all sergeants) and one of the young men in the last rank broke ranks and came all the way over to me and shook my hand and said "Thank you for your service." It kind of got to me, to say the least.
