How many of the bidder thought they were bidding on the helmet?

You are probably right, Gus. I guess the seller will feel guilty and won't dare taking $ 1000.00 from the high bidder.

I am not so sure, I heard of a seller posting a photo of a rare fender gitbox with a buy it now of several thousand dollars, with a note in the description that the auction was for the photo only, there have been a lot of deceptive auction photos that will catch a person who does not read the whole description, or does not speak the language.

yeah this one has me going #-o!!!!

This went way overboard considering that these pop up about every 2-3 months and possibly in better condition.

and arent these rounded M91 chin scales not only unique to a Kürassier helmets but also found on enlisted artillery, other cavalry helmets, etc.? as far as I know they are the same or interchangeable.

I think some of these bidders thought they were bidding on more than just the chin scales.

I dunno, that bold print is pretty obvious and if somebody bids without translating it into what ever language, then oh well. As far as I can see, these are the wider Kuerassier scales, but brass or tombak? I don't know. IMHO, this is FAR too much to pay for a set of really not so good chin scales. Of course, they'll look fine on a not so good helmet. :-" Between this and that M15 arty helmet, some ebay buyers are being pretty free with their money (if anybody purchases the M15).

:D Ron
