Not exactly a show but the big annual seminar is at the Kansas City Museum next weekend. Janet and I will be attending.

A really great seminar–some real notables, many authors, many educators. It appears as though the Western front Association and the great war society will probably merge this year. The focus of the seminar was 1918. It was held at the Kansas City liberty Museum. I have never been there before and I would highly recommend it. The city has thrown a lot of money at the Museum. They had a wonderful exposition on German stuff and while they did not have many spiked helmets there were a boatload of steel helmets. The museum does not take any collections that are not given to them outright. I do know that next year it will be held in San Francisco but I do not yet have the dates. This is a history thing. Not a collectors gathering. I was able to meet some old acquaintances and met an entirely new group that were quite brilliant.

The general feel is that spiked helmets are way too expensive. Oh well. Tremendous Imperial German slideshow of postcards in the museum.

The newsletter above can be subscribed to for free. It is a good vehicle to get in contact with the Western front Association. In addition, Mike is planning a trip to Italy WW1 sites. sounds great but requires more mobility than I can muster.
