To me it's such an obvious fake, but y'never know! Somebody might say, "Yes! Karl Frank of Harsewinkel used to make green leather liners." (From India). ;)

This being said, I have already seen authentic officer spike helmets with dark green leather liners. It looks great.
 
I've only ever seen one "tin" officer's helmet. But it was made the same as a leather with the visors being separate pieces. As to the green liner; maybe it just isn't ripe?

Was it the leather or the silk? I've seen the silk and it does look good!

Dark green "silk" is not so rare, especially on helmets worn during the war. I was actually referring to green leather.
 
Sorry, been away a bit. Thanks for clarifying that. Interesting. But do you agree that this one looks faked?
