Hi everyone, Im Andrew ( MG34NZ) from New Zealand, I collect WWI and WWII militaria that can be related (loosley)to New Zealands involvement ie if it was used by us or against us or taken as a souvineer then thats me.
I allways wanted pickelhaubes from an early age when I found pictures of them in a militaria book and have had some beautys ( ex wife took care of the bulk of them) now Im mostly drooling over everyone elses beautiful helmets as most of the small number I have is 1915 patten used and abused lids but I love them just the same.
My Favoriate would be almost the worst one, a mixed and matched M1915 with some brass attatched that was given to me buy a guy who remembered his oder brother returning from WWI with the Pickelhaube stuffed into his kit bag and extracting it as he sat at the kitchen table passing it to his younger brother "I brought this back from the war for you boy" My old mate was 9 at the time, hes long since passed away but his helmet and the story with it remains.
I look forward to interacting with some fellow pickelhaube lovers and will call on some expertise from time to time
Best Regards
