This one does not have the bayonet style top as in your bavarian m15. That's the only downside

Yes I agree with you. I have couple of spikes like that. But I really have a liking for those chinscales, german workmanship is marvellous.

Then, they are not officially called M15 helmets but rather war production officer helmets
M15 helmets with faux chinscales and removable spike with bayonet lock were clearly regulated in a prussian AKO dated of the 21.09.1915 for all prussian units and small states. . Württemberg followed this AKO on the 10.10.15, Saxony on the 09.11.15 and finally Bavaria on the 31.03.16.
