Grenadier Helmet

Could anyone provide any insight on this helmet. A good friend in London sent me this picture. It apears to be an 1842 pattern pickelhaube and it has a Grenadiers badge.

Throw me into the opinion pile with Arran and Joe. They look well made and are attractive. I wonder if it would be possible to find the production they were in? It is possible that the wappen is an old one. To me (I'm probably wrong), the chinscales look similar to some Austrian fire helmets I've seen. The spike... well, it's a spike, by golly! :)

I can share a bit more information: According to my firend this was made by Hawkes of Piccadilly (London), and the spike is of the kula khud style as used in India. It was reported to have been shown at the 1851 Great Exhibition in London.

I wish I could add more.

So this could be a manufacturer's sample of their work, rather than a specific regiment's helmet. (the spike does look like something out of India, or for India.) So, being during the Victorian era, this could be a manufacturer's way of telling Prince Albert that they accepted his heritage... hmmm... interesting piece if all of that is true. I wonder if you can find a catalog of exhibits from the Exhibition.
