grenadier pickelhaube relic find

Hi

I want to show You a part of relic grenadier pickelhaube.
It was found in 2004 year as I remember, on Tannenberg battlefield with belt buckle and part of backpack.

There was no leather shell of helmet, it could be made in filz? Battle was in 1914y.

haube was in cover, we can see hooks on metal parts of visor and some part of cover was attached to eagle

That is so cool! It must be thrilling to pull something like this out of the ground...

only items - I think there was place when some germans was catch by russian and they surrended.

Interesting finds! I grew up near the coast in the South-West of the Netherlands where there are still a lot of bunkers of the atlantikwall. I used to play in these bunkers and I frequently found German coins and uniform buttons. These small finds excited me a lot as a kid.

Frozzer, excellent, that is a very cool find! I can't imagine the excitement of finding something like that in the ground on an old battlefield.
