Yep Ive read that post from end to end, but this is a stahlhelm cover. Im sure things like stitching etc will be similar, but fixing methods, hole re-enforcements etc these are not covered in this post.

There are a lot of repros of these out there.
However, if this is a repro, it is the best I have ever seen. In fact, I would bid on it if the seller shipped to the USA.

Yep I see the bidding is creeping up, I have very little info on these things and I hate bidding on things I`m not sure about

I suggest you exercise extreme caution with this cover. See The German Army in the First World War, Uniforms and Equipment - 1914 - 1918 by Juergen Kraus.
Pages 110 and 111 have good photograqphs of a Probe sample of an original cover.
