Hello
Last week I brought a helmet at a local collectors which I paid £200
The Helmet is small measuring 9inches / 230mm from back to front.
The photo's are at (I hope ) http://groups.msn.com/HELMETHELP
Could somebody please give me any info. on the Helmet and the value
Many thanks

A Prussian Model 1895 Ordinary Ranks helmet. The piece needs a leather chin strap and cockades. You basically paid what it is worth. In my humble opinion. I see inked markings on the inside of the rear visor. What do the say? Regards, Brian

Hi Paul:
Regimental markings usually are IR or JR plus the regt number eg. JR 91. Sometimes there is also a year date like 1914. You need two cockade....one Prussian black with white ring and Reichs cockade red white, black. If you need to see some examples go to Tony Schnurrs' web site Kaisers Bunker. Original cockades go for approx $45US. Repro. leather chin strap approx $25. Regards, Brian
