Hello everyone,

Just catching up, on all of the exchanges and wondered about the helmet that appears with J. Brasseur's profile.
It is simply beautiful and I was wondering if he would be kind enough to describe it for me.
Kind regards
john

John- thanks for the comments!!

It is a Bavarian M1842 Mannschaften Kurassier helmet with King Ludwig front plate.

One of my favorites!

I agree! James has been whining about something with his scanner but this very well might be a plot. He keeps striving to pry my Bavarian breast plate from me.... maybe he doesn't even have the helmet. :laughing7: :laughing7:

Here are some Pics.

I have the same helmet !

As the Bavarian and Prussian Mannsch Kürasse are the same (except for the markings)...I change display from time to time.

I replace the original 4.Kü Regt Mod 1867 Mannsch helmet on my 'Wilhelm Jaeger' Kürasse by the Bav Kürassier helmet.

Thank-you kindly for your prompt response, description and pictures.
This kurassier helmet represents the quality of workmanship, and the detail in the pre war era that has caught my imagination and interest.
If this helmet (or one like it) becomes available, I would appreciate your bringing it to my attention.
Again my thanks
kind regards
john
