Helmet marking

Hi guys

Need the experts help again.

Fireman helmet which was a garde helmet prior to that.

Has two set of markings.

KBAG

FdAS??

I don't understand what is the second set of marking

"Fd. A.S."?

Maybe "Feldartillerieschule"? (field artillery school).

That would be my guess. Not sure if I am right or not. :wink:

K.B.A.G would be the depot mark for the prussian guard and as for the other stamp I admit I am at a bit of a loss as well

The marking in your helmet is Field Artillery School located in Jueterbog.

A "go with" for the helmet and Tony's superb shoulder strap. The owner of the stein was originally in FAR 61 and then assigned to the Field artillery school.

Yes, I am going to put it back. Initially, I was only shown the pic of the KBAG marking so I bought it and when it arrived, I just did not give it a priority but am going to do so the week after.

Looks good. One question, isn't the Kugel an earlier pattern than the other parts?

The beaded ring kugel was gradually replaced in 1887 to the M95 smooth ring that was integrated into the neck. The changes often reached the troops with a certain delay. ...accordingly to Page 419 of The German Artillery.
