Help Identify Helmet

I picked this up in a gun shop a few years ago. I know it is fire police or some civic function. Is anyone on the forum familiar with it and the period it dates to? It is a fiber helm but has no maker marks. It also has liner band ventilation holes all around the perimeter, so we assume post wwi. It is missing the wappen small center emblem. I can only find one resource photo online with similar features, unfortunately the source is a photo sales site only with no narrative. The emblem on it’s wappen is similar to the asiatic expeditionary forces eagle, with the addition of a trumpet horn that the eagle clutches onto. Thanks!

Hi Ron,

I believe this is a Prussian fireman's helmet from the 1920's Weimar era. This style of eagle never had a crown on the eagle's head.

I remember seeing one many years ago, back in the 1980's, here in the town where I now live. I found out what it is back then, in a reference book, and now I unfortunately don't recall what reference book it was where I found out what this helmet is.

I notice that your helmet has the metal trim on the back visor, something we often see on firemen helmets.

It looks to be in fantastic condition. Congratulations on acquiring it.
