Hello from France !

I am asking for your help:

I own a helmet from the 1st Foot Guard Infantry Regiment. It bears the name of its owner: Freiherr von Ende.

I also own a tschapka from the 3rd Guard Uhlan Regiment. It bears the name of its owner: von Petersdorff.

Does anyone have a photograph of these officers? What was their service history?

Any information would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards, JM

Wow, those are both amazing helmets. Apparantly formerly owned by Prussian nobility.
I'm very curious if someone here can come up with more information about these officers!

JM,

presumably Heinrich Frhr. von Ende who served with 1. GRzF from 1892 to 1916. Although a further possibility is Major Hilmar Frhr. von Ende who retired in 1904 with permission to wear the uniform of 1. GRzF.

Glenn

Major Viktor von Petersdorff served with 3. GUR for most of the pre-war period. He was the senior squadron commander in 1913 when promoted to Major on 27 May of that year. He retired on 10 September 1913 although he served in WW1 certainly in 1914 where he was wounded commanding 1./Garde-Reserve-Ulanen-Regiment. He was certainly still alive in 1934 and living in Tittmoning, Bavaria.

Regards
Glenn
