Help with Russian Cuirassier Cap

Kaiser Wilhelm II

Well-known member
Hello All.
This is very off topic for this forum page, however, I am searching for someone who can tell me more about this cap I am interested in purchasing. I have tried on several other pages without any success to gain an educated opinion, so this is my last shot.
It is being advertised as, "Enlisted Ranks Life Guards Kuirassier of Her Majesty's Regiment Ceremonial Hat"
The listing also states that it is from after 1898.
I would like to know if this cap is what it states to be, and equally as importantly, I'd like to know about its originality.

Thanks in Advance, Gentlemen, -Hayden

Hayden,
I am not an expert on Imperial Russian uniforms, but I do have limited reference I use. I have not seen a split color band on Imperial Russian Army headgear (not to say it doesn’t exist) , but I believe, like the German Kurassier Regiments, the headgear would be white with different band colors depending on the regiment. Here is what I found on the Her Majesty’s Kurassier Regiment. I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Dennis

Thank you for the reply.I have done some looking about and I have decided that I am going to (for now) stray away from this piece. It requires further research, and the search is not over. Thank you for the reference site.

I have seen this for sale. I have a small Russian collection and a solid reference collection in English, French and Russian (although I don’t speak Russian). My research into this cap has been unproductive so far, but I’m not giving up
Dosty
