A very nice pickle repo chinstrap and cockade no loose stitching nice and solid the plate was held on by string and I added the slithers of wood. Super helmet. Now if you want it I need payment in a couple of days. I also don’t want you to disappear and go quiet on me . Questions don’t equal a hold . Free US post . PayPal plus %4 .

Price $2000 with the spike it came with or $2450 with the Hesse spike ( that’s how much the spike cost me from a forum member)

Hello Rob,
It might also be worth pointing out that the neck cover is a reproduction and the rear spine is for an officer. Beautiful lion from 117R.
Have a good sale

Hello Rob,
If I hadn't been sure and certain, I wouldn't have allowed myself to express a doubt. Thanks for the extra photos.
It's a beautiful restoration job that's been done. It must be emphasized.

The white stitching is recent, and has been taken up in the holes of the sewing machine of the time. In the photo below, you can see the old thread on the left. Note that the side posts are 1915 officer's models, or for some Ersatz models in sheet metal.

The outer stitching, on the other hand, does not conform to the model, and the overall shape of the neck cover is clearly that of a reproduction. So does the internal appearance, and the edge stitching isn't right either.

Note the difference in appearance and ageing between the visor and this nape.

The rear spine should not be edged for an enlisted man, and even in the case of an Eigentum helmet for a one-year enlistee.

You can clearly see the difference between the varnish on the hull and that on the nape of the neck.

Well thank you chaps looks like a price reduction is in order! I guess the plate must be worth a few bob and the parts $1200 not including the Hesse Spike. Rob

Ok should I ask for more then? I mean I want to sell it not keep it. Though I don’t really want to see it up for sale in a few weeks for a few grand. Rob
