Images are posted on their web site. Both helmets need some TLC and are missing some very important parts..... 1621 ribbon and the star of the Hessen order of Ludwig. These would be very hard to come by. I bet that they go for a good price even with the missing parts. Bill

Bill,
It seems that only the one with the Haarbusch is a JR115 and needs parts. The other one appears to be a Dragoner officer helmet.

Bruno,
Yes, the Dragoon Officer appears to have all of the parts. The 115 has the missing parts. Both need TLC but the Dragoon Officer alone is worth more than the winning bid. Bill

Did anybody get extra pictures? I don't think that trichter is right. In addition to the bad parts. I am not sure what this helmet really purports to be. Even with magnification the Dragoon helmet leaves a great deal of questions. If all is okay, it is a good deal, but tough to go on what is in that one picture. I not know if you would ever be able to find parts for that wappen.

Joe,
They did post additional pictures on thier web site. http://www.thomastonauction.com/viewimage.php?ImageName=78961.JPG&ImageDirectory=data/auctions/2006jun/&ImageList=78961.JPG,78961A.JPG,78961B.JPG,78961C.JPG,78961D.JPG,78961E.JPG,78961F.JPG

The same Dragoner officer helmet sold a few days ago on the german ebay for more than $ 3500.00. The condition was better though, although not perfect. This one seems to have one flat and one curved chinscale, and it seems that the JR115 helmet has also one curved chinscale... maybe these 2 helmets have been mixed together... The JR115 helmet is for an Unteroffizier. I am not sure that the Trichter is wrong, Joe... hard to say.
