Hi Gentlemen,

any comments about this haube?
Hessian Dragoner helmet, pattern 1871? I think the Reichs officer kokarde is wrong on this helmet, because of the enlisted men liner...What about the hessian kokarde, is it an officer one too? Or cockade for enlisted men?

Beware !
The Gendarmerie (civilian) wore exactly the same helmets !
From 1914 on they became Feldgendarmerie (Army).

Sorry for the bad link, just tried again but the helmet has "disappeared" from ebay. Seller was "ludwigeimer" and the rare helmet seemed quite OK to me.
