Never restitched a holster before but leather is leather and stitching is stitching. These were far easier to do than an officer visor. The tricky bit is matching the thread, both were originally stitched up using white cotton thread of 2 thicknesses. The P38 needed thread almost the thickness of butcher's string. The 1907 Roth Styer needed something less thick. Fortunately, I had 100% cotton thread in both sizes. The Roth S. thread was manufactured in 1951 and was a kakhi colour so that had to be bleached white before it could be used. When stitching leather, the thread must be continually bees waxed as you go. The combination of wax, skin oil and dust from the leather darkens/ages the thread so that it pretty much matches the original. The wax prevents your thread from fraying as it is being dragged through the leather holes. It also locks in the thread because the wax sticks to the leather. Some before and after pictures:
