Home Office

I finally bought a new "writer's desk" this week. It is more appropriate than my old computer desk for my office. Being a writer it is nice to have a writer's desk but it is taking some getting used to as well. The old desk had everything at just the right height but it also meant that I tended to rest my elbows a bit. Anyway, the new desk fits with my office a bit more... and I have a "Guard" to keep visitors from bothering me now too.

Some of the photos are washed out as it is a bit bright in the office. The light is properly defused to protect my collection but cameras pick it up. So it looks far brighter than it really is in here.

Simply excellent! Your displays are very impressive. Now... let me make some offers on those helmets.. :P (kidding of course)

:D Ron

One can automatically sense the perfectionism. Beautifully organized; congrats! Love that Bersaglieri hat you got in there (as well as the impressive British colonial collection). Beautiful Broomhandle too. Commercial or army 9mm limited issue? I guess you're still missing its wooden stock/holster?

The Broomhandle is just a replica (wouldn't be a good idea to have a real handgun out on the wall). The Martini Henry rifle is real however (dated 1878).

Truth be told, I spend too much time in my office to truly appreciate the collection. Don't get me wrong I love it, but I work from home so I am in my office 10 or more hours a day a lot. So I don't spend time relaxing in the office. That's the downside.

Here are some shots of the "bunker" too:

Simply amazing Peter! You have one very nice little museum in your house. Love that MG-34. I hope it isn't deactivated? Are the Waffen markings still on it?

Fantastic collection Peter!! I thought for some reason that you lived in an apartment? Very cool....is that a Brit or Canuck manequin behind the Bren?

After all that I think I completely forgot to look at the desk!

Speechless. I am without speech.

Many thanks for the insight into the amazing world of Peter Suciu.

Warmest regards,

Really got a chance to know Peter's father, brother-in-law, and his father at SOS. Nice family! Next year perhaps Enid will come??? You really had to see these father-son combinations. A true blessing.

This really is a family event.

I think I liked Peter better when he was living in a cramped apartment, I am really getting envious of his great collections hall (it sure is not a room!)
Best

Thanks for the kind words. I went to my first militaria show with my grandfather and great uncle back in 1981. So I guess this October will be 30 years for me! I'm sorry that they aren't around to go to the show with me.

My father isn't really much of a collector, but he really enjoys the show. And I think my wife Enid wants to come to make sure I don't come home with as much stuff!
