$480 is a pretty steep price to pay for being poorly informed. Think of all the reference books that could've bought... ](*,)

Pickelhaubenstein??

"That's PicklehaubenSTEEN"

LOL!!!! Maybe the spike moves from side to side.

Okay, so started as a.... fire helmet? Rear visor stitched on with the new liner??? Yes, I agree Ron, 'Pickelhaubenstein, steen, stone...."
Time for some Ovaltine! Where's my lab assistant... I'd like to have an intellectual conversation.

:D Ron

Here comes another $710 Haubenstein, Frank N. Steen, or something like that...

The visor part might be from a fire helmet.

It's really strange how the bidders will plunk down big bucks for something that is so ludicrous, so obviously bogus....apparently believing that it's "original" because the seller makes the claim. ](*,)

But wait...there's more:

Somewhere a pharmacist is missing a mortar, and a couple of wooden screen doors are missing their hooks.
Check out the comfortable Hussar busby style liner and the extra-large visor for protecting the eyes from glare while on patrol.
Don't miss the opportunity to own an Apotheker Tschapka....:puke:

I COME IN PEACE...

How come this Brian (be good) seller still has 100% feedback?! Someone ought to report him... :x

The eBay site supposedly doesn't police authenticity of items marked as original.
However, a dealer at a recent show said that eBay ended his auction of what he had described as a Confederate fighting knife because they determined it wasn't actually a Confederate item.
Education remains the best solution to avoiding an item that doesn't measure up, I guess.

Yes....fireman helmet with repro liner stitched in so both visors have been restitched as well.

Here's Pickelhaubenstein's little brother:

(check out Item 161 at the bottom; same nasty shape isn't it?)
