Years ago, when I decided to become a 'serious' collector, I made a list of 'most wanted' helmets. As time has gone on, I have indeed found a few, but not many (since I mostly wanted the rarest of the rare). So now, I purchase helmets that 'speak to me'.
This means that I still have my list, but am willing to purchase helmets just on the basis of liking them, even though I may have a close duplicate in the collection already. But, it has to be a helmet that I like the looks of... 'speaks to me'... says, 'buy me!'
Believe it or not, I've passed on helmets in antique stores and the like, just because there was something I didn't like, so I don't just purchase everything I come across...
How about you guys, how do you decide what to buy and what to let go?

PS, I WILL buy that nice 6th Kurassier EM when I come across it!
