How to gEntly cleaning exterior of pickelhaube.

How should I go about gently cleaning the exterior of a pickelhaube to remove several years of dust accumulation?

A soft cloth and nothing else?

Simple window cleaner will do with paper towels

As well, a vacuum with a soft brush can make a significant difference. In many cases, it's just as you said, years of dust.

I use a Swiffer duster to collect the dust off of my helmets.
