How to remove knopf 91?

Dear all,

This is one of these things I intend to do for the first time, and before embarking on a destructive journey, I thought it would make sense to ask for some advice here. I have finally found an original reichskokarde for my bavarian haube, and I would like to know what is the best way to remove a knopf 91 in order to put this kokarde on my helmet?

Best regards,

Edwin

Why would you have to remove the M91 post? A correct Kokarde sits around the post. Not underneath the post. That is why the hole is so large. I would never remove one of these. You absolutely will break one of the prongs or the brads.

Thanks for the advice guys. That's why this is such a great forum! I always had the impression that both kokardes were held in place by the M91 posts, and were therefore underneath it. This makes it a lot easier.

Best regards,

Edwin

Some of us need some further tutoring as to how to distinguish between fake and authentic Cockades, including the repainting issue. I think this should be included with the chinstrap detection thread...
