Hello, I recently found this Busby, is it original? What do you guys think?

Say that maybe, potentially, unintentionally I was the winner who made a bid on it and then forgot about it like the idiot I am. How much would the value of it be? 😅

well it is complete....so maybe like $1250-1500 or so....is probably what a dealer would charge...or maybe more

IT DOES NOT NEED A DEATHHEAD TOTENKOPF ON THIS BUSBY.......that is for HR 1 and HR 2 only.

I guess it is missing the plume, but hey, its got the chin scales, fangschnur, feldzeichen, etc....

It is not complete with respect to hair...

Well, you know how it goes. You get older and your hair isn't what it use to be.

Congratulations,

I would be very pleased if I would have bought it.

For me, condition is important, but also regimental stamps, traceability and provenance. I would certainly pay more for a helmet that has been picked up after a battle (real provenance as shown here on the forum, not dealer write-ups), and even more if it can be traced to a wearer, than for a stone-mint piece that hasn't been anywhere.

May I suggest, that any of these helmets when found on a battlefield, would have been close to mint. Dirty, but basically new.

The damage we see now is a result of 100+ years of poor storage.
