So Gents. Just made a deal on the Busby. Thanks to everyone for their help, especially Francis who had the patience of a saint.

If all goes well, it should arrive next week.

A nice "starter" example in really clean condition.

Well...it finally arrived.

Much nicer in hand than the sellers photos IMHO. All looks ok to my untrained eyes and hands. Hope these photos do it justice

Still can't make out any of the ink stamps. But the larger ones do appear to be the manufacturers name.

Comments / Feedback welcome.

Any help on the stamps? I know they are hard if not impossible to read. But any guesses would be appreciated. I know Francis suggested maybe some say "Erich Bergmann" and in one stamp I think I can make out a partial word "uniform" so not sure if this indicates a manufacturer or a retailer. Also, one stamp may be a Kammer stamp as I can make out a partial "B" but that is it

I ran across this old thread that mentioned a database of makers here. I couldn't find it. If anyone knows where it is would love if you could point me to it

Looking good, good luck finding out the makers. I Guess there were not too many makers so i would just search for Busbys on the net till I found the same maker. Rob

Thats actually not a bad plan! LoL I think I'll give it a try.

Using my wife’s iPad which explains the previous truncated message. I’m in Italy at the moment.

Meant to say nice to see that you “pulled the trigger” on that opportunity. It looks like a nice piece.

Thanks Steve!

Ah yes. Italy. I remember you saying you were going there. I'm quite jealous! LoL

But stop waste your time on these trifling little caps. Go back and enjoy your vacation time with your wife! 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
