NEVER seen this before, Text says it's a hussars helmet, really???

No such animal. It appears to be a Hessian helmet with this skull applied. Notice the exposed holes next to the plate. Corky

Cork-Meister. Perhaps you looked too quickly; on Hessen helmets, the cruciform slike base "arms" all equel in length and a Hessen helmet would have a round front visor.
