Hussars past and present

Holy cow Steve - what a spectacular lineup! The HR4 von Schill and the 2LHR2 displays are especially nice. 😺

When I see a LeibHusar Totenkopf I feel the urge to grab my tablet and start classifying. Is it one of the major patterns #1; #2 or #3. Or another pattern???

I was going over some photos of my Hussar collection, some that I no longer have
and some that are still in the collection.
So I thought that I would post the photos.
L. Garde ; 1 L H R 1 ; 2 L H R 2 ; and H R 4
More to follow.

I have never understood why when you reach such a level of collection, you don't offer yourself the services of a professional photographer in the studio for this splendid Pelmütze???Garde H R retouché.jpg

It’s stunning isn’t it? All of Steve’s Husaren collection is still out there. I was privileged to visit and see the Leib-Husaren and HR17 furry hats. These are great photos!
Tony
Thanks
I sure did enjoy your visit
and I thank you for your visit with me

Great work with the photo.
I don't think that the otter fur examples can be shipped in between
different countries. If customs find it , it is long gone.

Here is H R 7
Private purchase bear fur
War time Plusch officer ; this came out of an old collection in Chicago
the collector was advanced back when I started to collect.
It went to another collector in Chicago
then to a collector in New Jersey
next to Ohio in Feb 1988
I got it in March 1988
sold to a collector in California 2004 or 2005
showed back up with a collector friend in California
not long ago
last time that I checked he had sold it.
Next H R 7 reserve officer in rabbit fur, the only one that I have ever seen
This came out of the Canadian War Museum I was told
this was back when the OVMS had their shows at the former Drawbridge
It was worn by Baron Stahl von Holstein along with the two H R 7
officers Attilas and dress hat
Later I got another H R 7 reserve officer in opossum fur
Some officers shoulder straps in my collection

H R 9 Opossum fur
the parade Atilla of H R 9 in the rank of General was worn by
Carl Edward. He wore this Attila for his wedding.
I have a photo of him and his wife on their wedding day
wearing this Attila and the photo is signed by both
Carl Edward and his wife. You can see a little of the photo
at the bottom of the image.
The Attila is now in the collection of Brian Sanders. There are many medal loops on the Attila
It is the finest one that I had ever owned.
