Did you notice he doesnot sow the front of the helmet? There is no way of knowing if there are extra holes for the Wappen. Great find Eric, but since you are the one who found it, I will let you bid, at 2,50 Euro, it could be a bargin (I would not go over 3 Euro though)

Years ago at a club in Detroit I saw a bouncer had taken all the brass parts from an officer pickelhaube, and mounted them on a custom made motorcycle helmet. He actually paid good money to have someone make a fiberglass helmet (that was street legal) in the shape of a pickelhaube.

He had the original (I think they were original) cockades, chinscales, eagle, spine, spike, etc. I didn't know whether to be sadden or impressed! :eek:
 
His poor departed Opa must have been an old biker. I remember seeing a fellow at the Alt Stadt Fest in Hannover, '76, sitting on a beat up old Panhead Harley wearing a helmet very similiar to this police/fire helmet.

Nice ,Also reminds me of the style Bikers I saw when I was a kid. I have been told by some I know now that these looked great but sucked for safey ,the one fellow at least had his all matching in nickel plate.

Hmmmmmmm, the base of the spike doesn't look quite right....
Shouldn't it have a pearl ring?? :lol: :lol:

But it does have a pearl ring, and this type of helmet should never have a pearl ring, it is climbing in price, up to 13,50 Eruos.
