I did it again, another Adrian helmet is in my collection as of now, a scarce Zouave variant.

The US M1 helmet, I presume? It went through several changes, but is still in use today. I had one when I was serving in the Dutch army, and I still have the helmet here at home, and my complete outfit too.

Hell no my friend I'm talking about the Stahlhelm I think just about every modern helmet is based in its design which revolutionized helmet design forever.

True, we even use it in the Dutch military now. When I was in the Dutch army, we still had the M1 variant, but that one got phased out some years later. I guess I'm getting old... Like all of us do. When I served as a Sergeant, we're talking late 80's.. I still remember those day's like it happened a year ago. ;)

Any way, this evening I lucked out on the Genie Adrian helmet, someone beat me to it unfortunately.
But I did buy a nice Artillerie Adrian helmet. So, when the Artillerie M15, and the Infantry M15 arrive here, I will post pictures of them here.
Both are nice original helmets, and never been messed with. They will bring the total of my Adrian M15 collection to 5 examples, but I'm not done yet. ;)

Regards, Coert.

Well, I was following a Genie Adrian helmet on e-bay, which was original, and in nice condition. I missed out on the one with the veterans plaque on it, but did win the one I was bidding on this evening! The Infantry, and Artillerie one I won earlier will be delivered here tomorrow, which is quite fast! I hope the Genie adrian will arrive just as fast here! All 3 helmets are original, and all in Horizon blue, with 1st model liners in them.
The collection Adrian helmets will double up now! Now all I'm looking for are the Adrian for medical troops and the one for Colonial troops, that one is different than the Zouave one I already have in the collection here.

Needles to say I'm a happy guy!
(ps, I won all 3 at very reasonable prices too, they go for much more at militaria dealers, so got very lucky on all 3)

Regards, Coert.

Well my friends, the artillerie Adrian, the infantry Adrian, and the genie Adrian have arrived at my place!
Further more, I also bought a medical service Adrian, which is on it's way to me!
Needless to say, I am a very happy guy now. When the medical Adrian arrives here, I will post more pictures of them all, the Adrian collection will be 7, but I'm still after a colonial infantry one..
Maybe its better to move this topic to the Steel Combat Helmets 1916-1918 topic?
As these are no Pickelhaubes, and the topic is getting more of a collector topic about them?
Maybe an admin, or @Tony without Kaiser can arrange that?
If not, I'll post pictures of all of them here.

Regards, a very happy Coert.

The Adrian M33 fire engine was used at fires until it was replaced by the F1 around 2000, and is still in use for ceremonies and reviews, in France.

Adrian helmets are very pleasant to collect. You see them a lot (although finding one in good shape is more challenging) and are priced very reasonable. Especially compared to Germand helmets and Haubes.

I agree fully, nice ones are much harder to find nowaday's.
See the last picture, the artillerie one. It has patches of the original blue horizon paint, but, probably because of humid storage, a lot of it has gone. On the inside of the helmet, it is still present though. That one has the type 2 liner, the other ones the type 1.

That is really a great medical helmet. Good chinstrap, nice interior and two types of blue visuele. Nice purchase!
Thanks! I'm very happy to have bought it on e-bay France, where I was following it for day's.. Put an offer for it to the seller, and he agreed on it!
I bought several kokarden from him earlier, so he knew me, maybe that helped. These are hard to find, and usually on the expensive side, but I got a great deal on it. :)
