I got some " Faustriemen "

I want to show my latest findings. I got this pile of Faustriemen and "Seitengewehr Troddeln " the last days. They are unworn and originaly tied up.

they are from a old manufactor stock. Never worn and most of them still wrapped in paper. I got some more and will show the pictures soon.

Outstanding! I will point out that (generally speaking) knots with white cloth straps are peacetime while those with grey straps are wartime. You have a wonderful mix of regulation and private purchase style knots. I really like them.

Yes the white strap ones are peacetime I heard about it.
I am very happy with my new "Troddels " Maybe this is a possibility about the color of the straps ( early/late) . But, it seems to be that the white ones are worn at wartime too ? When I look at ww1 fotographs I think there are some white ones to find .

You are correct that soldiers continued to wear their peacetime knots into the wartime. Particularly worn on private purchase Extra-Seitengewehr worn as "walking out dress" off duty sidearms. A good observation as one has to look closely at black/white photographs to see this.

I think these are color plates of the first private German version of this book. It was later published in English as, Kreutz, Hofmann, Johnson, Reddick, "Edged Weapon Accouterments of Germany 1800-1945". ISBN 1-929572-03-4. A very good color reference that I was slightly involved in proof reading some years ago prior to publishing in English at the request of Rex Reddick.
