This item is from a dealer, not Ebay, and the last time I saw one of these I asked a friend for his opinion and he bought it out from under me. Such is life.

What is your opinion on this one:

Here are my concerns:
The chinscales look too short for the helmet.
It appears more brass than Tombac.
The fit and trim of the visor trim looks strange, buckled, dented.
The rivets on the tail are not rivets but split pins.
The Wappen has voided wings and three tail feathers.

I have not received an answer yet on regimental marks, makers marks, etc.

I guess basically I'm looking for a reason NOT to buy it.

Any help is appreciated. There are Sooooo many fakes out there that these really scare me.

I would suggest you think carefully. Compare all of it to an original Kürassier Metalhelm of any Regt.on this forum. But an easy answer is to look at the crude M94 post and the scales.

Interesting. Do you really think that 2200 Euros is too much, if this was 100% original?
If so, and if you have a guaranteed original that you would sell me for less, PM me and I'll buy it today.

I would stay very far away from this helmet. Might as well wait for a better one and shell out another 500-1000 $ more for one you will be much happier with....
 
No answer on your questions on the markings....Strange !!!
If this was a real Kü Regt Nr 6 helmet (markings-no double holes etc...)...this would be a good price.

I got an answer on the markings but the helmet had already sold. He only had it two days. It was sold before I started this thread, he just hadn't updated his website.

I am glad that I joined this forum, otherwise this might be headed to my house.

Looks like I dodged a bullet there.
