Arrived yesterday June 2 .
I R 153 enlisted helmet .
This came from an old collection that was sold .
There were many other really nice and rare helmets
that came out at the same time .
As I was making a list of which ones to think about buying
by the time I went back they were all sold.
They went like hot cakes.
The collector had a thing about when he removed the front plate
he would place a small tag on the back of the front plate
with his name and address .They remain there .

Very nice indeed Steve. (y) Congratulations! I am very fond of these issued Saxe Duchies OR helmets. I have the felt version from this regiment.

Brian ;
You are one lucky fellow to have that one ! Those felt ones grow on me .
I told you there was a C G R 9 from that same collection .
It sold before I could whistle " Dixie "

Very nice looking helmet. Thank you for giving us an in-depth look at your new addition.

I saw a Mecklenburg Dragoon enlisted issue helmet from the same collection offered .It had grommets . Yet the plate did not
fit the grommets . A hole was made outside of the grommets for the plate .The seller showed the plate removed and no
reason to hide the fact . it looked O K to me .It did not matter , it sold before I could even give it a second thought. We all
have our rules for collecting .There are rules and regulations and then there are things that do not follow the rules .
I once knew a collector who stated that an officers "Gibraltar " cuffband did not exist .Yet I own one and a second one 100%
correct on an officers Waffenrock .Things are not always as they seem .And experts are not always 100 % correct .
