May I ask you where do you have found the information? I found a similar one for Music-Directors but nothing about the A.K.O. The following pic is extracted from „Die Uniformen der deutschen Armee. II. Abteilung (8. Auflage)“. I translated in english, maybe someone might be interested.

Here are a couple of plates that I have showing the M1898 music straps
The M1898 straps followed the color of the enlisted strap or the underlay
of the officers straps as you see in the plate with the 3 straps .
