Hi Steve,

indeed I can. It is the regimental commander, Oberst Alexander Graf von Kanitz (1848-1940). He wears the commander‘s cross 2nd class of the Braunschweig order of Heinrich der Löwe (Henry the Lion). He went on to command the 49. Infanterie-Brigade and retired with the character of a Generalleutnant in 1905. wonderful portrait.

Glenn ;
Again my hat is off to you !
That makes the photo even better than I had hoped for .
I R 92 is one of my favorite regiments .
Steve

This from a period publication showing the then Generalleutnant z.D. Graf von Kanitz. Note the special "zur Dispostion" (i.e. retired but at disposal) Raupe worn on the left shoulder showing his z.D. status.

Glenn
