"Imperial" German Navy War Flag

As per the feedback he got from another eBayer, this isn't a pre-1919 'Kaiserliche Kriegsflagge'.
This is indeed the short-lived (c1933-1935) War Flag pattern amended by Herr Hitler himself.
In March 1933, shortly after he gained power, he abolished the Weimar Republic era's black+red+gold canton (upper left corner) insert (c1921-1933).
Then in Nov. 1935, Hitler introduced the totally redesigned War Flag incorporating the swastika.

However, the seller's displaying it upside down: Black stripe on top, red stripe at bottom.

If anyone has the 1921-1933 Weimar War Flag, it would be great if they could post photos as I haven't seen it yet...

True Edwin, I remember seeing a similar one there sometime ago only it was a 1921-1933 version with the canton modified--the Weimar Republic's Black/Red/Gold stripes covered with plain black--to fit Herr Hitler's March 1933 regulations.
This one is the scarcer 1933-1935 production pattern (all black canton from the start; nothing underneath) with Reichsmarine acceptance stamp. The only 'problem' with it--if it's authentic--would be the large size which isn't 'display-friendly'... unless you buy the actual warship it used to be on... :-"

I saw this flag in person. I thought it wasnt a pre 1919 flag but I wasnt sure and I didnt want to burst his wurst....and Ron is right. Pain in the rear to :? display unless you are Tony who is probably building a 1:1 model of a battlecruiser in the back yard!
