Imperial Russian reference books

Does anyone suggest any Imperial Russian / Tsarist era reference books in particular to cavalry and heavy cavalry?

Hi Doug,

Here are some good books I have that I can recommend to you. But they are all in Russian unfortunately; personally, it's quite challenging for me to read since I don't speak any Russian. I try my best.
Any specific era/period you are looking for? The General Tsarist era is quite long. These books here covered several topics from mid 19th century until 1917.

Thanks Jvpi for the kind and detailed response. I am interested in the Chevaliers or Heavy Cavalry. Specifically details about the Cuirass for the Chevalier Guard Regiment, the Tsar's Life Guard Cuirassier Regiment, and the two Tsarina Regiments.

This book might have what I am looking for perhaps. Where does one find these? And I do not speak Russian so zero chance I can read them therefore photos are a must but this book appears to have many!

Cheers
Doug

Doug,

you might want to try a copy of this book by Gerard Gorokhoff. It has the advantage of also being in English (and Russian). Covers all branches of the Russian cavalry immediately pre war and during the war profusely illustrated with quality photographs and plates. 365 pages.

Regards
Glenn

Thanks to everyone for the recommendations. I purchased 1 book from a forum member, just received another brand new in wrapper from a seller on eBay and have another book (used) inbound. Excellent references.

Thanks again
