Lost Skeleton

The subject was most likely a Fähnrich (or well-heeled Mannschaften) in Kaiser Franz Garde-Grenadier Regiment Nr. 2. He certainly purchased an impressive helmet, and, judging by its condition, found many non-regulation occasions on which to wear it.

Perhaps a helmet belonging to the photo studio....

Nice pic, thank you !

In the Blücherstrasse !

The old Ironside Blücher...

The beginning of the end for Napoleon.

Hey Khukri,
I doubt that it is a studio helmet, he wears it with too much pride to be borrowed.

I think you're right !
He has this... "Go ahead....make my day" look...
Rgds,
Khukri

That appears like it has been worn a lot by the look of the crimp in the trim at the front and the way the chinscales are separating a little?

Thats one real 'bombe' star on there too.

Is it dated, Chas? Fantastic photo.
