Improving my late medieval collection

I was lucky, yesterday, at a live on line auction, taking place in the south of France.
At one time the auctioneer called me his only buyer...
The stuff was under estimated, and even then lots of it didn't sell even when the auctioneer, started at lower figures...
It will take me a journey to go and fetch it, because the weight might make it quiet expensive to send.

I used to have one in my very first collection, still having his original inner liner.

No castle ....yet! ;-)

The helmet in my avatar, is a Belgian helmet made fot the 9 th line infantry fo a very short time.
It was introduced shortly before WWI.

I always wanted one, but only knew 2 for sale in my collecting time. And I didn't get them.

The picture I am showing it that of the prototype made of plaster.
The closest I ever got to this helmet was by having the original matrix die to make the crest.

No, that is a French essay helmet!
I like them as well, they appeard later when the war all ready started.
Nice helmet btw.

My avatar is a picture of the plaster model (prototype) that resulted in this one;

I only came that close to the only one I ever know for sale...
But I was able to lay hands on the original die used to make the crest.
Here seen with a French (hussard) similar helmet from the same periode.
A crest I made (in polyester!) out of the die's (they come by 2 (left and right))
I sold them 2 years ago.

16 th century German town guards.
Beeing that far south, to fetch them I decided to do a other 1200km to be in the most southern part of Europe, in order to escape the bad weather.
So the pictures aren't the best...

The helmets look great, but also congratulations on having such a beautiful view out of your door. I could see myself sitting there with a nice beverage or two enjoying that view.
