Nice museum and I was actually able to go to it several years ago. In the same area as that horse they had some trench art in the shape of a tank – British. Very cool.

Loads of stuff.
Much of it dates back from the old "Ypres Salient Museum". 15 to 20 years ago...I guess.
This horse sure is a tribute to all animals that served and suffered during the war.
They had a small messenger dog as well (I think this one was on display as well)

I ordered Arthur Brühe's book about the Halen/Haelen Battle. Guess I'll be busy translating for some time."Von Aachen bis Haelen. Ein Epos von der Attacke bei Haelen. Die Erlebnisse eines Pasewalker ""Königin""-Kurassiers..." He wrote the book 44 years after the war.

Francis,

Let me know when you get it translated! I would be heavily interested. Our book with a large amount of cavalry stuff in it goes to the publisher in five days. This might be a basis for a book project later on.

Ok Joe, No problem ! I'll let you know when I get started ?
When will your book be published ?
Rgds,

Good question – is supposed to be available by Christmas which really means sometime in October. There are still hurdles to be crossed.

Thanks for posting this Francis, the Cloth Hall is incredible, I would love to see it in person one day...
