"In Its Own Juice"

There is a phrase I see sometimes in the realm of French collectors which is, "In Its Own Juice". I understand it as describing something that has been untouched since its original use, set to marinate in its own environment.

This is a common M15, but I absolutely love it how original it is. The dust is settled, all the parts are untampered & original to the helmet, the paint is all the same, the rust consistent. The lacquer under where the chinstrap sat is uncrazed and well preserved. The split pins are entirely untouched. The ball atop even is slightly rusted in place, but still moves freely. I don't dare remove the wappen either.

I love how frozen in time this piece is. All the parts are nice and well taken care of. While I have no problem piecing them together, it is really a gem to find one in it's own juice.

Very nice and fully original M15 Artillerie helmet! Rare to find one in this, as the French say 'Dans son Jus " condition.

You nailed it with the "frozen in time".
Seems to me the best translation to give for the French "dans son jus", even shortened to "jus" when spoke.
