I would want to look at the marks on the back visor and the stitching. Back spine seems out of shape as does visor. More pics of back needed.

Ditto :???:

This is a weird one. I asked for more shots of this helmet but the seller say's he does'nt have any more??
Looks like one of the liner tounges has been 'added' to.

Anyway, to match your Frenglish I would say this helmet is very quelconque. Why are you interested?
Bruno

Not really that interested, Bruno. Just that Broadsword flagged it up. I would like a decent M15 Artillery. But not this one. [-X
Quelconque sums this one up to a tee. Really pretty banal.

Oh no Mike, I was asking broadsword, not you. Wondering why he took the pain to translate this long description of that rather unattractive hat, but maybe I missed something...
Bruno

The units come from 2 different states ,so the plates by some amazing luck fit I might be wrong but the Lahr FAR is a Baden unit.
Mark

Thats OK Bruno. It's all 'much ado....' - Bof!

As an aside, I thought Rgt.6. was Prussian and would have worn the 'FWR' eagle pre-1915. What would the post 1915 incarnation of this plate be? New style Grenadier eagle or what? I've never seen a greymetal M15 Grenadier plate on anything. Does it exist? I think Joe mentioned that he had seen one once. This really puzzles me.

Mikey this was listed in an old Kaiserzeit magazine as having been confirmed. I have not seen one and neither has Randy. I thought he was talking VIth Corps not AR6 but there is something not right.

Mike,
Sorry for the confusion.

I really wanted to know;

Is this normal for any Pickelhaube to have three marking from different regiments?

How can you be so sure?

sorry for the intrudion but there was one for sale 3 years ago at the Etobikoe show ,I do not rember the unit but I rember it was well marked .It eas a mint m15 . he had other things that came from the same veterans estate ,but the helmet was a nice piece went for $1200 .
sorry to change topics, but someone asked about an m15 grenadier

Thanks for the reply Mark. Really, an M15 Grenadier?
But why then is this plate so rare? There was around a dozen regiments of Grenadiers, right? They went to the trouble of producing a Guard M15 plate.

My guess is that they just made only one Grenadier plate and then raffled it and every other bugger had to wear the grey line chicken and like it.

As for three different Regimental markings, well.....I guess thats not the norm but it may not be totally unheard of. I have seen one with two marks but with one crossed out. But I would expect the Army Corps to be common to all. Is 'L.F. 6.' an Artillery designation???. Or does the seller say that just to justify the ball on the top? I dont know if this actual helmet is worth too much time. :-k

Mikey et all look at this plate.... You collect grey stuff.

Helmet is a zero but the plate....

Cheers Joe. Another Garde plate without the star and not a lot of evidence to suggest that it ever had one. As you say- the helmets a write-off.
Do you think Grenadier regiments may have been issued with the Garde plate sans star as a 'near as dammit' alternative. But I still dont see why they could'nt have just made the Grenadier eagle in steel instead of brass.
