Here is interesting photograph showing the Regimental Commander and Regimental Adjutant of Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 16 in 1858. Both of these gentlemen rose to the rank of General der Infanterie: Oberst Albrecht v. Manstein, later Commanding General of the IX. Armeekorps and Sekonde-Lieutenant Richard v. Seeckt, later Commanding General of the V. Armeekorps (and father of Generaloberst Hans v. Seeckt of Reichsheer fame.
