Oh I know it can be done Otto, and it is perfectly acceptable to patch a local loss of gummi, but here you would have to do it pretty much everywhere... A brand new finish on such an old, seasoned helmet... mmmh... then you would have to also re-gilt the plate... doesn't look to appealing to me.
